SOBERANES FIRE RELIEF FUNDRAISER RAISES OVER $100,000
August 30th 2016 – Carmel, CA

A sold out crowd joined Monterey’s food, wine, beer, and music industries to help raise over $100,000 for those affected by the fire in Big Sur and Carmel Valley at Folktale Winery & Vineyards in Carmel Valley on Sunday August 28th. The $100,000 mark was reached with the help of an anonymous donor who provided a matching gift of $50,000.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will be distributed to the Soberanes Fire Relief Funds at both the Coast Property Owners Association and the Community Foundation for Monterey County. Funds will also be distributed to support the continued efforts of our local non-profit, volunteer fire brigades who have gone above and beyond in supporting our community.

Final tabulations are not yet in and donations are still being accepted. Contact Folktale Winery at [email protected] or 831-293-7500, or the Monterey County Vintners & Growers Association at [email protected] or 831.375.9400.  The final totals and distribution amounts will be announced at a granting reception in the near future.

This event would not have been possible without the efforts of hundreds of  people who helped to put on one of the best events of the year. The fundraiser was co-produced by Monterey County Vintners & Growers Association, KRML, and Folktale Winery & Vineyards with the help of a rock star planning team including Brooke Ewoldsen, Carli Seaver,  Dyon Foster, Elsa Rivera, Jeff White, John Fitzgerald, Jonathan Roberts, Joy Anderson, Kim Stemler, Nina Sherrill, Robyn Michele, and Toby Rowland-Jones . Pinnacle Bank voluntarily contributed their time and efforts to manage the funds raised by the event.
