It happened so quick I didn't even get to put it out on our website! At the last moment Chef Todd Fisher asked if I could jump into the competition to fill another chef's slot and not only did I, but with the help of a few awesome friends, we won! Go to Spice Blends & Rubs to celebrate with us by way of a FIRE SALE on Amazon!
Awesome people from L to R: Shiho Fukishima of Ocean Sushi, Goofy-Looking-Me of chef's Palette, Beth Ann Simpkins of Folktale, Colin Moody, Exec Chef at MPCC, and Richard Oh, Oh Wines & Affina!
Not pictured is the amazing Bill Cox. Thank you for sharing your talents with us!
I'll have some samples to sniff and taste as well as a few bites to show you how simple it will be to make your food taste amazing with our spice blends.
Farmer's market deal only: Buy all 8 blends for $90! That is a savings of $22 off our retail and Amazon price if you bought them all separate!
Hope to see you all out there from 10 - 3.
Stay tuned for more dates and venues to catch me at that may be closer for my peninsula friends. Cheers! -DF
All 8 of our current spice blends and rubs are available for purchase at Trio in Carmel on Delores between 6th and 7th. If you haven't been to Trio - you have been missing out on having a blast with Karl and his crew! They have a huge selection of gourmet vinegars and oils as well as wines and wine tasting (including Pelerin Le P'tit Paysan! Delicious!) Now that they have Chef's Palette in stock you need look no further to find inspiration for your next glorious culinary creation!
As you can see, the spices are also available for tasting and for your olfactorial delight! Come back here to the website for blogs and ideas including answers to any questions you may like to ask. Last but not least, this new placement has inspired me to develop an Italian Blend that will mix fantastically with Trio's fantastic olive oils and balsamics to make a sauce for dipping your freshly baked breads or for tossing in your favorite pasta - Cheers! -DF
SOBERANES FIRE RELIEF FUNDRAISER RAISES OVER $100,000
August 30th 2016 – Carmel, CA
A sold out crowd joined Monterey’s food, wine, beer, and music industries to help raise over $100,000 for those affected by the fire in Big Sur and Carmel Valley at Folktale Winery & Vineyards in Carmel Valley on Sunday August 28th. The $100,000 mark was reached with the help of an anonymous donor who provided a matching gift of $50,000.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will be distributed to the Soberanes Fire Relief Funds at both the Coast Property Owners Association and the Community Foundation for Monterey County. Funds will also be distributed to support the continued efforts of our local non-profit, volunteer fire brigades who have gone above and beyond in supporting our community.
Final tabulations are not yet in and donations are still being accepted. Contact Folktale Winery at email@example.com or 831-293-7500, or the Monterey County Vintners & Growers Association at Kim@montereywines.org or 831.375.9400. The final totals and distribution amounts will be announced at a granting reception in the near future.
This event would not have been possible without the efforts of hundreds of people who helped to put on one of the best events of the year. The fundraiser was co-produced by Monterey County Vintners & Growers Association, KRML, and Folktale Winery & Vineyards with the help of a rock star planning team including Brooke Ewoldsen, Carli Seaver, Dyon Foster, Elsa Rivera, Jeff White, John Fitzgerald, Jonathan Roberts, Joy Anderson, Kim Stemler, Nina Sherrill, Robyn Michele, and Toby Rowland-Jones . Pinnacle Bank voluntarily contributed their time and efforts to manage the funds raised by the event. Thanks to all of you!
A heartfelt Thank You to all of our supporters that took the time to vote!
Unfortunately, it just wasn't enough - this year. But look out 2017! We're coming for you!
Dyon & Jules
True, there's just the one at the Monterey County Fairgrounds this weekend June 4th and 5th (Thank you Heather Elliot for the pic of my ugly mug on your TV from one of the commercials), but if you live anywhere near the monterey Peninsula you should come check it out!
Come see demos from Tony Baker, Todd Fisher, Chef's Palette unabashed supporter Butch Francis and yeah they let me come back for the third year in a row too! I'll be onstage at 2 p.m. both days. Check out their website http://artichokefestival.org/general-info/about-festival/ and direct link to demos page and bios: http://artichokefestival.org/entertainment-events/chef-demos/
See you there, Cheers!
